I am you
I am very shy
I see your cue
I step back to hide

You have what you have
I have what you have, too
I hand out my branch of olive
I hope you won’t sue

You see, I am you
Not completely of course
But I have had it too
I’ve had not had it worse

No matter what disease
No matter what syndrome
No matter what color
No matter what ethnicity

I have what you have, too
Not completely of course
I have seen how it is with you
It is a sadly powerful force

But, I am like you
I have had what you have
It’s true I’ve had it, too
I was too scared to be brave

I have had everything
I guess I wanted to know
It makes it hard to sing
Sometimes I am real slow

But, I am like you
I know everything’s okay
I know now what to do
You, too, will have your say

I am lucky to be

You are so amazing
That you can be
Such a wonderful being
I am lucky you see

We all need to give and take
Some are really out of balance
We prefer to live for all’s sake
Some can only see how to pounce

Those that take too much
Their lost soul shows as such
They have a focus that just fades
Their filthiness owns their parades

How can I take anything

We do it for everyone’s sake
That’s how we feel the best
